Whitney Elizabeth Houston is the youngest of four kids born in Newark, the state of New Jersey, on August 9 1993. Her parents are gospel singer Cissy Houston - born Emily Lee Drinkard - and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick was also an international singer.
