Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B in a signature mix. The singer's career has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European festivals and clubs up to her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine Her real name is Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta but her origins are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue a musical career as a singer and pianist in a church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta in Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You the House was only released in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and has become a staple of her live show. Her voice was also featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she was hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral in the production staged by Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform at Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
