John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has been able to touch many through his music. Most of his songs were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and moved to Aspen. Many people took the road through Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. For many, Denver is the image of Colorado. In my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting people from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado The first thing they'll use are"Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk bands was Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver discovered that it was destined to become a smash hit when he heard an earlier version. The song was recorded just a few days following having performed on stage in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
